For the last few years my husband and I have had New Years at our place.
Well we had a hiccup in our annual party last year due to construction.
Never the less we decided to once again resume our annual tradition.
Things did not go quite as well as other years, we had quite a few less turnout than we had expected. Illness and weather played a big part of this along with other venues else where.
As always a good time was had by all that showed up. I learned some things that will help next time I decide to have a party. They are listed below.
10 Things that I learned from my New Years Party:
1. Bacardi Limon mixes well with 7-up or diet 7-up; never attempt to mix with Squirt.
2. When buying Sweet & Sour mix, make certain that it is a quality brand, tried, true & tested. I'm not sure where I bought my last bottle, but I'm sure it was at a grocery store. This particular brand smelled & tasted like sweet Pine-sol.
3. When using a beer bong, make sure the beer is not ice cold. It is essential that your tongue blocks the tube before you let the beer flow into your mouth and take care to blow your nose prior to attempting to do a beer bong.
4. Never let the " drunk" guy experiment with concocting shots.
5. Do not keep Balatore sparkling wine for more than a couple of years. It turns a funny brown color. Fortunately no one knew what color it really was supposed to be.
6. Never ever let the drunk girl pour Cherry Pucker into "specimen tube" shot glasses without a spout.
7. Vodka, Gin, Tequilla, Triple Sec,Blue Curaco, Midori and Grenadine will turn a gruesome black, but be very tasty if chilled. (Drunk Guy Concoction)
8. When people are drunk, they don't know the difference between Stoley's ($25.00) and Mccormicks ($6.00)Vodka
9. 35 proof Amaretto whipped cream in a can is more fun when consumed directly into the mouth than serving as intended in a warm drink.
10. When making a Long Island Iced Tea, Always measure the alcohol with the appropriate shot measurer. ( Hence the drunk girl )
Cheers to you & Have a wonderful and safe New Years.
